NFMT 2019 Events We Don’t Want to Miss

The Solus Group team is busy getting ready for this year’s National Facilities Management & Technology Conference/Exposition in Baltimore, and we couldn’t be more excited. NFMT 2019 is the place to be for industry news and networking, as well as 500-plus vendors to check out in the expo hall — including Solus Group.

Stop by Booth 2443 for a look at our Simpro DumpMaster 1200 Bin Dumper (among other material-handling solutions). You really should see this hydraulic bin dumper in action. It uses a unique lift-and-tip motion that keeps weight centered over the frame even as the load shifts. We could describe the mechanism all day, but there’s nothing like seeing it work in person.

We’re looking forward to meeting and talking with everyone who stops by our booth, but we're also excited to check out some workshops and speakers while we’re there. Here are some of the events we’re looking forward to:

• Maximize the Value of Your Facility Management Control System (Tuesday)

  Facility managers are always looking for ways to harness the power of big data to run more efficient operations. We’re keeping a close eye on the trends and developments in this field, and we’d love to help our customers learn to separate the wheat from the chaff in their Building Management Control System reporting.

• Arc Flash, OSHA, and NFPA 70E: Get Protected (Tuesday)

  As carriers of electrical material-handling equipment, we have a duty to understand the rules and regulations covering workplace electrical hazards. Apparently there are some big changes in the latest version of the National Fire Protection Association’s Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace, and we’d much rather learn about them from the experts than compare editions on our own!

• Aligning Work Order Management with Organizational Objectives (Wednesday)

  Our customers know that keeping up with WOs and data management is essential, and if our customers are interested, then so are we. This workshop will help facility managers pick the right work order management tool and use it properly.

• Navigating the Smart Building and IoT Landscape (Thursday)

  The Industrial Internet of Things is the biggest story in the industry, and we could always stand to learn more about the subject. We’re wading into these waters ourselves, with a line of bulk waste bins with embedded RFID chips, so we’re particularly interested in how data tracking will impact waste-handling applications in facilities of all sizes.

• Little Italy Restaurant Tour (Tuesday, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.)

  We’ve got to have one fun night out, right?
